Just showered. Freshly washed PJ's. Freshly washed bed sheets and pillow cases. It doesn't get better than that. Just imagine - you're clean, your clothes are clean, and your bed is clean. That's one comfy night's sleep! Throw in your favorite towel blanket and you are off to dream land within seconds! :)

My Favorite Type of Blanket
Blankets, comforters, throws, etc. are all crucial to enjoy a good night's sleep or a Sunday afternoon nap. Admit it: you can't sleep as well when you're not at home in your bed with your blanket. Maybe it's the texture or maybe it's the weight or maybe it's the smell! But I think we can all agree that a blanket can made a big difference when sleeping and sleeping without a blanket just doesn't feel right.
There are many kinds of blankets made of many different materials. In fact, I have three different kinds on my bed at this moment (that's a blog post for another day)! However, my all-time favorite type of blanket is the 'Towel Blanket'. A towel blanket is generally a thin blanket that is extremely soft like, you guessed it, a towel. It often comes in interesting colors and patterns, never matching any of your bedding. However, it is the softest blanket ever. Because it is thin, it is used mostly in the summer time when you need something to cuddle under, but not a big, thick comforter. Towel blankets can also be used as an added layer to your usual comforter for extra comfort (haha!) and warmth.
So, next time you need a really good night's sleep, grab a towel blanket. They're totally awesome and they make a world of difference! :)

Oops!
So last week at around 6 in the evening, the power in the house went out. It was a random time for the power to go out, especially since it was bright and sunny out. About 15 mins later, the power came back on, so I reset all the digital clocks around the house. I went to bed at 11 and turned on my alarm. At midnight, my alarm goes off. I shut it off by hitting the snooze button, thinking that it was part of a dream I was having. 9 minutes later, my alarm goes off again. So i hit snooze again, still thinking it was the dream. About a minute later, I turned in my bed and was like, "Wow, that's a weird dream!" I looked at the clock. It read 12:10. I finally realized I was NOT dreaming and my alarm did go off for real! It turns out when the power went out, it reset my alarm time to 12:00. So, at like ten after midnight, I had to reset my alarm to the correct wake-up time! Luckily, I was able to fall asleep quickly.

Love Kindergarten!
From Kindergarten:
Me: What words do you know begin with the letter 'z'?
Student 1: Zebra!
Student 2: Zoo!
Student 3: Zipper!
Me: Good, good! What other ones can you think of?
Student 4, who rarely raises his hand: What about those zzz's coming out of your head?

The Reason for this Blog
Over the years, I have verbalized and shared my love of sleeping and all things related to sleeping with many people, including my sister Helen. She has heard many of my dreams and stories about sleeping. I have also helped her get more sleep and have even made her fall asleep. She has a very good understanding of why sleep and all things related to sleep is so very important to me. This afternoon, she told me she thought I should have a blog devoted to sleep. After all, I do have this site I can use. Seems like a fun idea. I'm not sure how much updates I will have, but I'll give it a try. So to Helen, and all other sleep-lovers, enjoy! It's ok if you fall asleep reading my blog. I understand.
